Student officers from the Senior Command and Staff College, Kimaka, have undergone training on UPDF command structures and regional security threats. Major General James Kinalwa emphasized the role of professional military establishments in fostering peace across East Africa.

Major General Charles Byanyima has commissioned 122 officers into leadership roles following their graduation from the Platoon Commanders Course in Nakasongola. The General emphasized that professional military education is the foundation for the UPDF's future leadership and national security mandate.
